These colorful, hardwood carvings are made in Mbare just outside Harare city centre by various co-operatives that were formed to help unemployed people. We also have some pieces from the Victoria Falls region.
Most of the pieces are made by Charles Miatu from Malawi, he travels to Cape Town, South Africa and has a market selling his wooden carvings. He was overjoyed at us selling his pieces here and we hope he will come here for one of our workshops to demonstrate how he creates his carvings.
