But without the printed word our world would simply not function. Even in today’s internet-led digital world, the printed word still has a role and a future. People like the aura, the feel and even the smell of print. It can encompass serious and heavy volumes of learning and literature to being compact, pocket sized, fun and easy to use ephemera, the ultimate throw-a-way accessory but with full green credentials as printed material can easily be recycled.

Paper in Britain, North America and Europe is farmed to provide renewable resources time and again, proving that print won’t kill the planet’s resources. Even other parts of the print process are environmentally friendly with vegetable based inks, water soluble chemicals and aluminium printing plates recycled, perhaps to make printing plates again!

Here at G H Smith & Son after 140 years of printing we take PRINT very seriously and provide our customers with printed material they can be proud of.
