Environmental Policy

At G H Smith & Son we care about the environment and our environmental policy shows that printing doesn’t have to be at the expense of the world around us.

• We will only use paper from environmentally sustainable sources that has been FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified

• The inks used in our printing process are all water-soluble and non-toxic. They are all vegetable-based, soya inks.

• We minimize the creation of waste and wherever possible find a use for our waste. All our paper waste is recycled.

• Any waste which can’t be recycled is disposed of in an environmental sound manner; we work with our waste management company to ensure that all waste has an audit trail.

• We purchase our raw materials from environmentally sound sources and use environmentally sustainable or recycled materials where possible.

• We are keen to advise customers on eco-friendly solutions to their printing requirements and also recommend methods for efficient use of paper on all print jobs to minimise waste.

• Consideration is given to the environment when choosing new fleet vehicles.
